Are Novo plating danglers made in the USA?
Yes. Novo Metal Finishing Equipment manufactures plating danglers and related components from its facility in Bristol, Connecticut.
-
Are plating danglers compatible with all plating barrels?
Novo manufactures exact-fit and custom danglers compatible with many plating barrel styles and OEM systems. Contact tips and cable configurations can be customized for replacement or upgraded applications.
-
Can plating danglers be customized?
Yes. Novo MFE manufactures custom danglers with various cable lengths, end shapes, and contact tip configurations to match specific plating barrels, part geometries, and processing requirements.
-
Can plating danglers help reduce process downtime?
Yes. Durable, properly designed danglers reduce unexpected failures, improve process consistency, and minimize downtime caused by worn electrical contacts or cable failures.
-
How do high-quality plating danglers improve plating efficiency?
Efficient danglers improve current transfer inside the barrel, helping achieve more uniform plating thickness, faster plating cycles, and improved overall process consistency.
-
How long do plating danglers typically last?
Service life depends on plating chemistry, load size, barrel speed, and part sharpness. Novo danglers are designed with rugged TF insulated cable and durable protective sleeves to maximize longevity in harsh plating environments.
-
What are plating danglers used for?
Plating danglers are used inside plating barrels to provide electrical contact to parts during the electroplating process. They help transfer current efficiently through the electrolyte solution to ensure consistent plating coverage and process performance.
-
What cable sizes are available for Novo plating danglers?
Novo Metal Finishing Equipment offers plating danglers in standard cable sizes of 1/0, 2/0, and 4/0 to meet different current carrying and process requirements.
-
What causes plating danglers to wear out?
Common causes include chemical exposure, abrasion from aggressive parts, fluid intrusion into the cable, and repeated mechanical stress during barrel rotation. Sharp parts such as screws or blades can accelerate wear.
-
What end styles are available for plating danglers?
Novo offers several end configurations including standard, ball shape, and baseball bat style ends to optimize electrical contact and reduce part damage during barrel rotation.
-
What industries use plating danglers?
Plating danglers are commonly used in zinc plating, nickel plating, precious metal plating, fastener manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, electronics, and general metal finishing operations.
-
What makes Novo plating danglers different from competitors?
Novo plating danglers are designed with durable TF insulated cable, flexible high-quality PVC sleeving, custom end configurations, and exact-fit manufacturing expertise backed by decades of metal finishing experience.
-
What materials are available for plating dangler contact tips?
Contact tips can be manufactured in multiple materials including 1018 steel, stainless steel, brass, and copper depending on the plating chemistry, application, and wear requirements.
-
When should plating danglers be replaced?
Danglers should be replaced when cables become cracked, excessively worn, chemically damaged, or when electrical efficiency decreases and plating consistency suffers.
-
Why is the PVC sleeve important on a plating dangler?
The PVC sleeve protects the cable from abrasion, chemical attack, and premature wear. Novo’s PVC sleeve is crimped directly into the contact tip to help prevent fluid carryover, cable deterioration, and solution intrusion.
Plating Danglers
Novo Metal Finishing Equipment (MFE) provides drop-in replacement components for the metal plating and wet processing industries. We supply an array of cathode danglers from our manufacturing facility in Bristol, Connecticut. With over 100 years of combined industry experience, we have become a trusted supplier for manufacturing and process companies all over the country.
Our plating danglers are manufactured with the highest quality TF insulated cable for maximum flexibility and durability. The PVC sleeve along the length of the dangler is crimped into the contact tip to avoid fluid carryover, material abrasion and cable deterioration. We use a high quality PVC sleeve that is more flexible than the competition and holds up well in the most rugged of plating environments. Standard cable sizes available are 1/0, 2/0 or 4/0. Contact tip material can be specified as 1018 steel, stainless steel, brass or copper. The contact tip size and shape are customizable to ensure an exact match for the barrels and the plated parts.

-
Increased Component Life
Our rugged danglers are built to handle the repeated chemical and mechanical abuse environment inside of the plating barrel. The PVC protective sleeve is crimped into the contact tip to prevent fluid incursion and cable deterioration. The TF insulated cable is both durable and flexible during the exposure to repeated abuse during the plating process. -
Increased Plating Efficiency
Since electroplating speed is influenced only by the strength of the electric current going through the electrolyte solution, the dangler plays an important role in the plating efficiency. This is why metal plating service companies request our highly efficient Novo MFE barrel danglers. The Novo MFE cables are not only electrically efficient, they also eliminate fluid carryover at the seams and in order to increase overall process efficiency. -
Responsive Supplier
The Novo MFE team is located inside of the Novo Campus in Bristol, Connecticut. We respond directly to requests via phone and email. As experts in metal finishing, we provide components and assemblies for customers in a wide array of industries. Our product portfolio ranges from components such as horns, saddles and danglers to full portable barrel plating assemblies. We take pride in being a US manufacturing company, and we make communication a top priority.
